A Family Legacy, 100 Years in the making
It was on the banks of the Harvey River in 1928 that Giuseppe Sorgiovanni, a humble Italian immigrant, started his family farming legacy with his wife Camille.
Almost 100 years later, Sorgiovanni Family Wines is a family-owned and operated enterprise producing memorable, shareable and award-winning Western Australian wines. With his wonderful wife and four daughters, Kevin Sorgiovanni, continues the family’s tradition of working on the land, producing exceptional wines for you to enjoy.

20 years of family and friendship
Harvey River Estate was established in 1999 making approachable, popular and sharable family wines.
That same year the Joseph River Estate label produced its inaugural vintage of premium Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Head Winemaker Stuart Pierce joined the family in 2005 and took helm of the wine portfolio, shaping our wines into the signature style we celebrate today.
Over the past 20 years Stuart and Kevin have worked together closely, evolving the winemaking practices at Harvey River Estate and Fishbone Wines.

Stuart Pierce
At the forefront of Harvey River Estate’s winemaking is Stuart Pierce, a self-confessed Chardonnay lover who is dedicated to making wines people want to pour another glass of.
Since joining the family’s winery, his philosophy has remained focused on minimal intervention processing, letting varieties speak for themselves, and building a range of accessible and expressive wines, celebrating everything the Geographe and Margaret River Wine Regions has to offer.
In 2010, Stuart Pierce’s 2009 Joseph River Estate Cabernet Sauvignon took home the esteemed Jimmy Watson Trophy.
Most recently, Stuart is the proud owner of the 2024 Pink Jacket from the Endeavour Group, Margaret River Wine Show for the 2022 Fishbone Estate Rose.
